Colleen Salley has passed away.
Tonight in possum heaven Everette Maddox will have good company. Drink will be taken and stories will be told as only Colleen can, and the lambs at Jesus’ feet will be jealous not to be there.

It’s like this…
When Queen Colleen came to Tallahassee to speak at least 3 years back in 2004, she captured the room of teachers. She was a real “CHARACTER”. Never had we experienced such a dynamic person as this. She took over the room with just a look and when she talked, she captured the hears of every teacher with her stories.
She sold LOTS of books that night! And got writter’s cramp for her autographs.
In fact, for years, some of us worried about her safety in N.O. after the terrible storms came through. We found out she was safe and we all breathed a sigh of relief.
We know her daughter took care of her from afar. Queen Colleen LOVED New Orleans. It was her soul.
We all feel a part of this dynamic force and will miss her passing. But she has made her mark on us and we live on to do it like the Queen. Yes, we will continue to be like her. Let’s live to the fullest. We have big shoes to fill.
